Just curious but I’m able to turn the entire sign on and off with the “Simple Neon Animator” but would like to be able to have the “Free” sign continue to flash while the “Neon Sign” stays on…I can’t seem to figure it out.

        By the way great comp!

The fastest way would be to just animate the lightness of the layer in step 1. The results might not be as crisp, but depending on your situation that might work for you.

The best way would be to go to the “Module X Base” (I’m not sure the naming off the top of my head, but I know it has Base in the comp name). Create a new adjustment layer, and create a mask around the layer you want to disable. Add a Fill effect to the adjustment layer, make it black, and animate the opacity of the adjustment layer to “enable” or “disable” the neon.

If that doesn’t make sense, just message me and I’ll go into more detail!

Thomas, I purchased your neon sign kit from videohive. I’m having trouble with the module constructor. I follow along with your tutorials but when I get to the part where you disable gradient background and enable concrete or brick background, all I see is color bars but no background like you see in the video. I can import the brick tile into that section of the module and see it, but not with the module 1 images you preloaded. Why is that?

Mike and I have been messaging back and forth on his question, it appears he accidentally deleted the images folder and that’s what caused this issue.

If anyone else experiences this same issue, please message me right away!

          Hello,

I’m sorry you’re having issues with the download. I’ve tried several times with multiple emails, and every time the download works for me.It may be sending the link to a spam folder if you tried to download it more than once.

Hi, this may sound really dense could you possibly upload a screen tutorial of how to make the various amendments and flickering effect. I am new to this :). If, not great job either way, it looks incredible.

      Hello,

For the free version, I do not offer support beyond the included directions.

If you’d like full support, including video tutorials and full HD output, please consider purchasing the full version. Thanks!

Same here, I don’t receive the download link. I don’t have a spam folder. The link is out there somewhere in cyberspace. Tried 2 different emails. Hmm… by the way, very nice template!

      Hi Jonathon,

I just checked the link and it worked on my end. I’m not sure why it’s not working, but give it another shot and see if it’s still not working for you.

    Hello Thomas,

We are working on a number of videos that will be free for the public to watch online but want to potentially use this in the title (so it would be in each of the end products) do you have a rate for using the template in multiple end products that users are not charged for? We’d be interested in potentially purchasing it that way?

Hi Thomas I purchased the full version but was looking for a tutorial on how to edit the ‘Free’ in the ‘Free Neon Sign’. I like the style of that sign but every time i try to edit the word, ‘free’ it goes funny. Could you please tell me which tutorial your assets folder I may look up?

    • Thomas says:

Within the assets folder, the tutorial you are looking for is ” 12-animating-neons-and-multiple-neons”. The part you are looking for is ‘multiple neons’ in the tutorial where it discusses animating areas without using the Simple Neon Animator.

If you have any troubles you can always message me, I offer full support for the paid version. On Videohive, if you message me on my author profile page I’ll get back to you right way.

    Hi Thomas,
Very quick question – I managed to create my sign using all your instructions (even being a complete newbie to After Effects, so well done on those tutorials!). However AE is not rendering it properly for me. I tried to render the whole file and left it overnight, and it only made a tiny bit of progress even just for a small file 🙁 I also am having trouble previewing the file within the program. I keep getting an error message saying it needs more than 2 frames but I definitely have more than 2 (I think?). I followed all the instructions very carefully.

      Hello,

Unfortunately, I don’t offer support for the free products.

That being said, it sounds like you may have your work area set to be too long. On my mid-teir machine, it takes about 30 minutes per 5 seconds of footage to render, and that’s for the HD version (1920×1080) not the free version (1280×720).

Can this be used to make a simple jpeg image or an animated gif with the neon sign flickering?
Also, apologize for the question but what program/app does this work with? Adobe?

    • Thomas says:

Yes, you can make a simple jpeg or animated gif with the project file. You’ll need Adobe After Effects to work with the project file.

Thank you! I contacted the author at 1001 fonts and was informed the font has been permanently removed. A decent, free alternative I’d recommend is a font called ‘Beon’, or an almost identical, inexpensive alternative is called ‘Sevigne-ST’.
